Write for us
Local News Bulletin welcomes pitches that help general readers understand how to follow local reporting, evaluate sources or make sense of public information. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a full article unsolicited.
What to pitch
Propose a focused, evergreen subject with a clear reader question and a practical reason to care. Ideas might explain a reporting format, compare the role of different kinds of sources, or show how to follow a story as it develops. The subject should be useful across places and should not depend on local rules or access to confidential information.
What makes a strong proposal
Keep the pitch concise. Include a working title, the central idea, the reader takeaway and a short note on how you would support factual claims. Tell us whether the proposal relies on interviews, records or other material, and disclose relevant interests. Avoid promising access, expertise or evidence you do not have.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication. Please do not include confidential personal information or send a complete draft unless it has been requested.
