Local News Bulletin

Editorial policy

Local News Bulletin aims to explain local reporting clearly and responsibly. We distinguish between confirmed information, attributed claims and questions that remain open, and we revise published wording when a correction is needed.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements before publication and take care not to make a source carry more meaning than it can support. Where an article discusses a general practice, we say so rather than implying that it describes every newsroom, community or public body. We use plain language to mark uncertainty and distinguish an account from an established fact.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader understanding. A contribution or partnership does not determine our conclusions, and commercial arrangements do not buy editorial approval. Any relevant relationship is disclosed alongside the material it concerns.

Corrections and updates

If a reader identifies a possible error, they can contact us with the article detail and the reason for concern. We review the point, correct material errors and make clear when a substantial change affects an article's meaning. Developing subjects are updated when appropriate, with care not to obscure what was previously stated.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner material is clearly labelled at the point where readers encounter it and kept distinct from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are identified so readers can distinguish illustration from documentary imagery.
